About
Mary Anne Friel, Graduate Program Director and Assistant Professor in RISD's Textile Department, along with Elizabeth Crawford, a Masters Candidate in Public Humanities 2015 at Brown University, analyze the production of and references in Magda Polivanov's Mardi Gras Dress and Bolero Ensemble.
From iron, turmeric, onion skin, and rhizomes, to arsenic sulfide, lead tin, and cadmium sulfide, color is essential to art and design. Double Takes invite specialists to offer views on objects with a focus on yellow and the social context, artistic interpretation, and ever-evolving meanings of objects.
