- Work must be able to withstand the elements, including rain, wind, snow, and falling ice
- Work may be attached to the exterior wall of the Museum using a minimum of fasteners, to be determined in consultation with Museum staff
- The door is a fire exit and may not be obstructed
- Electric power is not available
- Excavations must be approved to ensure that they do not affect underground structures or utilities
- Plantings may not be substantially altered
- Nothing may protrude outside the iron fence
- Objects must be secured to discourage theft and vandalism
- No toxic materials, open flames, unsealed liquids, animals, or edible materials
- Potentially flammable materials will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine if alternative materials or fire retardants are required
