Recto: The words "Libertas" and "Americana"above woman's head;under a horizontal line below her "4 Juil.1776"; and under her neck the sculptor's name "Dupre" Verso: the words "NON SINE DIIS ANIMOSUS INFANS" above this scene; under the horizontal bar below the scene the dates engraved as follows "17/19 Oct. 1777/1781"; and on the right just above the horizontal bar, the sculptor's name "Dupre" followed by "F" for fecit.
